Description

I make games in my own time, pretty much on my own.

History

Early History

I created several multiplayer games. Which are available on craftfortress.com. I built these in my spare time. Gamesynch.com ( a synchronised jukebox of games which you can play whilst talking to your friends) and dangerzoned.com ( a multiplayer side scrolling shooter). I built these over the last couple of years in my spare time. However I wanted to make a game thats been on my mind since I saw WarGames back in 1980. That is when I decided to build a brand new multiplayer 3D RTS game from scratch.

After That

I built the networking engine from scratch in Node.JS. Once I got that working, I started work on the WebGL front end. I chose WebGL as it was an emerging technology that allows users to play on the page without having to download any plugins. Also, I noticed there are no 3D RTS, that I have seen. Over the months I integrated a NASA shader to provide a realistic view, ontop of the default monotone cyan view. Once the Alpha started working and I could see it could handle over 20 players, I went onto develop a particle system , to allow a realistic portrayal of missiles and other attacks on the screen. Once this worked, I focused on creating a Levelling system which allows a user to unlock abilities to reward good playing and increase the scope for tactics and strategy. I am now fixing gameplay flaws, UI glitches and a couple serious bugs. After this I will act on the communities feedback and complete the Levelling system and Research Tech Tree rewards.
